This is the last update before the playoffs begin on November 1st. The field is set, we know who’s in and who’s out. The Saskatchewan Roughriders, BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers from the West Division. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes from the East. The Crossover is in effect, but as for who it will be is anyone’s guess. The only known fact is that the Stampeders cannot crossover.
Week 21 Schedule
The final week of the CFL season starts in Hamilton on Friday where the Ottawa REDBLACKS visit to end the year. The REDBLACKS have been eliminated for a few weeks and the Tiger-Cats are still playing for who will host the East Final.
Also on Friday, it’s the Battle of Alberta for the third time as the Elks host the Stampeders. The Elks were eliminated this past weekend and the Stampeders still hold out hope for a home playoff game.
First game on Saturday is the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hosting the Montreal Alouettes in the game of the week, with both teams playing for something, maybe. The Alouettes could be playing for the right to host the East Final if the Ti-Cats lose on Friday. More of that later.
Closing out the CFL regular season will be the BC Lions and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Riders have nothing to play for and looking for a tune up before they host the West Final on November 8th.
The Scenario’s
This will be a much more in depth version than what I’ve done before. The West can end with a three way tie for second. BC holds the tiebreaker over the Stampeders, the Stampeders hold the tiebreaker over the Bombers, and the Bombers hold the tiebreaker over the Lions. This could be one of the craziest endings to a season in recent CFL history.
